"Just curious." I raise my hands up in defense a bit. "Should she have?" She then asks with a raised brow. "Yeah, I've heard that one." I release a minor scoff. "Did she.ask about me?" I pick at the bottle's label as I looked down at it instead of Romanoff. You're lucky you didn't prove me wrong." She says and I slightly roll my eyes.

I had half a mind to say that you weren't here but I gave you the benefit of the doubt. "Yeah, she wanted to check our status to see how the assignment is going.

"You're lucky I didn't bring up that you weren't here when Maria called earlier." She tells me wiping the smugness clear off my face as I step away. Thank god it made you shut up." I say looking into her green eyes, a slight haze in them. Before it can escalate I pull away tugging her bottom lip slightly with my teeth. She immediately reciprocates with a soft hum. I smash my lips against hers abruptly to quiet her down. You can't just leave without a note or saying anything. She comes forward stopping until we're face to face. "I went for a run?" I raise a brow giving her my answer in an obvious tone motioning to the sweat stains on my T-shirt. "We're here on important business and you just disappear in the middle of the night?" She says incredulously. "You know, for someone who couldn't care less, you sure seem very interested in my life." I pant slightly walking past her and go to the fridge grabbing a cold water. "Where were you?" She asks ignoring my question. "The hell's your problem?" I ask breathlessly, I can't feel my heart beat fast because of the HYDRA brand but I know it is. I'm caught completely off guard making me slap a hand against my chest. I walk through the tiny hallway and Natasha is leaning against the sink looking at me. It was still fairly early when I get back to the apartment.
